Youth Development Network
A network of seven youth development non-governmental organisations in South Africa.

FNB Momentum UYF Progress Fund
Financing for Black Youth Empowerment Companies in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Polokwane.

Swiss-South African Co-operation Initiative
A South African development-finance agency funded by Swiss and South African companies in collaboration with the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation (SDC) aimed at promoting the social and economic development of South African youth.

Kagiso
The Kagiso Trust is a leading non-governmental organisation devoted to the development of disadvantaged communities in South Africa. Under the guidance of its patrons and trustees, the Trust finances and manages grassroots projects aimed at empowering especially women, young people and the disabled.

BRAIN
The Business Referral and Information Network (BRAIN) programme was initiated by the Department of Trade and Industry, and is now managed by the the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA).

Any individual or small business that needs business information may call the National Centre for assistance with business queries.

Queries may vary from quite basic ones, e.g. 'Who can help me finance my business' to very complex ones concerning manufacturing processes, international markets, patent infringements, etc.

AIDS Foundation South Africa
The AIDS Foundation of South Africa is a funding agency seeking to identify and develop initiatives which reduce the impact of AIDS in under-resourced communities.

AIDSLINK
AIDSLINK is an organisation which aims at raising funds to support individuals with HIV and AIDS and organisations which provide appropriate care for people with AIDS. It also aims at creating awareness of the prevention of HIV and AIDS.

Health Systems Trust:
Health Systems Trust is a dynamic independent non-government organisation established in 1992 to support the transformation of the South African health system. HST supports the current and future development of a comprehensive health care system through strategies designed to promote equity and efficiency in health and health care delivery.

Medical Research Council of South Africa (MRC)
The mission of the MRC is "to improve the health status and quality of life of the nation through excellence in scientific research." 

National Institute for Virology (NIV):
NIV functions as the national resource centre for viral diseases in South Africa. It is a public health institute within the Department of Health

National Progressive Primary Health Care Network (NPPHCN)
NPPHCN is a national non-government health advocacy organisation promoting collaboration, participatory research and policy formulation, appropriate training and organisational development. Membership of the Network is comprised of health and development programmes, projects, organisations and concerned individuals operating throughout South Africa.

Planned Parenthood Association of South Africa (PPASA)
PPASA is a dynamic national NGO committed to the principles enshrined in the South African constitution. It provides leadership in sexual and reproductive health and rights, recognizing this as a keystone to gender equity and sustainable development.

Reproductive Health Research Unit:
The Reproductive Health Research Unit is a joint project of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Baragwanath Hospital and the University of the Witwatersrand, and the Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan Council.

The Overall purpose of this directory is to facilitate networking and referral as key components of the National response to HIV / AIDS

Welcome to the SAYVON website.

The network is based on the UN convention on the right of the child to participate and therefore, all our programmes are right based.



We have successfully laid the ground work for various programmes and initiatives that facilitate the organisation in meeting its objectives. Well now is the time for us to be more aggressive in our implementation of these programmes. Please read more on these.



South Africa has been affected by violent attacks related to xenophobia around various parts of the country. The violent attacks are predominately being aimed at foreign nationals. SAYVON strongly denounces this behaviour and has launched a campaign to fight the scurge of these attacks. Read more


We have concluded a research on Young Women's Participation in KZN, click here to read the outcomes from the research. The project is an initiative that seeks to increase the participation of young women in development issues, particularly civil issues within communities. Please click >>here<< to read more.



SAYVON is in the process of running a pilot on a very exciting project called peopLinQ (pronounced "people link"). This project will allow SAYVON youth to be able to communicate and share ideas in an easy and cost-effective manner, whenever, wherever.
